From Goodreads : In I Am Not a Serial Killer, John Wayne Cleaver saved his town from a murderer even more appalling than the serial killers he obsessively studies.

But it turns out even demons have friends, and the disappearance of one has brought another to Clayton County. Soon there are new victims for John to work on at the mortuary and a new mystery to solve. But John has tasted death, and the dark nature he used as a weapon---the terrifying persona he calls "Mr. Monster"---might now be using him.

No one in Clayton is safe unless John can vanquish two nightmarish adversaries: the unknown demon he must hunt and the inner demon he can never escape.

In this sequel to his brilliant debut, Dan Wells ups the ante with a thriller that is just as gripping and even more intense. He apologizes in advance for the nightmares.

My Review : I must admit that the first book was not what I expected  but in the end I did enjoy it. With this book I went in knowing it was demons John was fighting and I enjoyed it just as much. From page one this book like the last just draws you in. John is a character you feel for and cheer for even when he is conflicted. This book shows him grow as a person and also a demon hunter, people dying around him and he is trying to think like a killer to prevent the next murder and not be a suspect as he tries to work with the police.
Dan Wells created a character that is both creepy and heartwarming a hard combination to pull off but in these books it is done wonderfully. I am looking forward to the next book in this series and I hope it does not end soon.
