Updates

12/26/15 updated 1/2/16
I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday. I know I did. I have spent the time coming up with a reading plan this year and have been getting ready for my healthier living blog for next year. Planning to make that a vlog channel on YouTube and do daily or weekly vlogs. Okay, so this is my reading plan for 2016

  2016 Reading Plan

 1. Get my Netgalley rating up to 80%  -  getting more book than I can read from netgalley and want to get better at reading them.

2. Reading more sequels or series--- I have a lot of book that are the first in a series I have been meaning to start. So this year I am going to start reading the books I have and buying only the sequels or reading the sequels.

3. Read an hour a day unless I have the day off then read 3 hours a day.

4. Don't spend the day on line.--- I don't read as much as I should because I am watching videos or playing games on line I have to cut that down.

5. Work on the blog more and you tube channels. More content.

6. Participate in more Read- A - Thons -- These are great for encouraging me to read I am going to start doing these more. I have to work but I will be reading as much as I can when they are going on.

7. Read at least 1 adult novel a month-- I read a lot of young adult, I love young adult novels and series but I have a ton of adult novels too. They seem to sit on my shelf forever so I am cleaning all my shelves and going to open my reading more.

8. Be more active in book tubing--- commenting on book tubers videos and hopefully gaining new friends in the community.

9. Be more of comfortable--- I don't feel comfortable in front of people and it is something I have been trying to overcome. So I have to relax and be myself more.

10. Review more books--- both on the blog and channel, going to start taking more notes on the books as I read them and give more detailed reviews.

Well, another year is almost gone and it has been a good year. I have been slowly reading in the last two months. Not as much as I hoped but still reading. 597 books on my shelves so in the last four months I have read 22 books. For me that is good. Not to say I have not bought any books, butt not as many as I would have usually and I have read them soon after buying them. I am moving in 5 short months and have packed up 90% of all my books so starting the new year with a new plan. Also going to be working on my Book tube channel more. I might even add some new features to my channel and blog. What does that hold for the future good things. Fun and interesting things. Here are some of the things I hope to do.

Giveaways, Book Hauls, Video Reviews, Blog Tours, and I am thinking of features that highlight other aspects of my life, or I may add a link to them so people can get to know me better and my life ( If they want too )  but one thing I am going to do for sure is Netgalley Reviews I want to start cleaning out my Kindle an really reviewing all the books I have been approved for and raising my rating as a reviewer. So until next time let me get back to my crazy life and I will type at you soon.

I can't believe it has been just under a year since I updated this page. Family issues has kept me away but now that is over. That has not kept me from reading though as you can tell from my three day review binge. Glad to see I still have readers. Thank you all for staying with me. I will continue to update my blog and I am starting a You tube channel called Karen loves to read. That will be interesting because I will then link my blog too it so there will be videos on here as well. this week I have chosen to celebrate my TBR books and I have a lot when I started to keep track in Sept. I had 619 book on my shelves well I am now down to 604. I am not ashamed of my shelves I just need to clear space and with a move in the next seven months I want to make it easier on me. I don't know how reading more will help because I really don't get rid of the books I have read but I am saving money. I will be reviewing more books now and updating on my days off so see you soon

Reading Slumps ..... I hate them but I have been in one lately and I know I want to get back on track. I have several books started but not in the mood to finish them. Been enjoying the nice weather and relaxing at home with hubby. Playing board games with the kids and just having a good time with it. Working more and trying to find time to read. Renewed my card at the library and that is dangerous but I needed a book to help get out of this slump. Think I found one but not sure. Another new development I am going to quit smoking and I never smoke when I read so that my help with my slump we shall see....

Well I realized I missed last month but that is ok because it was a sloooooooow reading month for me I am progressing in my Project 50 books but not as rapidly as I want but it is okay. I do understand that I made this commitment to myself and it is killing me that I am not buying any books. On a funny note I almost killed my husband because he commented on my Project 50 books. I explained to him what I was doing and how my book case was over flowing and that I wanted to read some of the older books. You want to know what he said ....

 "It's about time"
I looked at him and said   "Oh Really"
He got up and left the room quickly. You should know never comment on a book lovers book collection. I don't comment about his music collection, but that is a rant for another day.
So without further ado here are the new books I have read for my Project 50 Book.

13.) The Iron Bells by Jeanette Battista

14.) Five  by Holli Anderson

15.)Warm Bodies by Isaac Marion

16.) The Rising by Terra Harmony

17.) Cinder by Marissa Meyer

18.) Ophelia and the Marvelous Boy by Karen Foxlee

Okay, so I thought I would let you know what is happening in my Reading Life. I am using this time to get caught up on my Netgalley Reads. I have fallen behind on them. Such an addicting website. I am also doing the Project 50 Books. That is were I must read 50 books I own before I can buy anymore books. It is turning out to be tougher than I thought with all the new books I want or feel compelled to buy and read but I am sticking too it. I am on book # 13 right now. I am also going to start to review more books on my blog and You Tube channel.  One day a week I will be shooting 2 or 3 videos and writing the same amount of blog post. So stay tuned for that

Below is a list of books I have finished for my Project 50 Books. Reviews you can expect soon on all of them

1.) The Karma Club  by Jessica Brody

2.) Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins

3.) The Catastrophic History of You and Me by Jess Rothenberg

4.) Legend by Marie Lu

5.) Something Strange & Deadly by Susan Dennard

6.) Give Up the Ghost by Megan Crewe

7.) Poor Little Dead Girls by Lizzie Friend (Already Reviewed)

I think I am off to a good start. Every month I will continue the list and add the links to the reviews. I know some of these books have been reviewed ten times over but I will still review them because each reviewer has their own view of them. So until you read again. Have a good one and always feel free to comment and suggest books for me to keep my eye out for.
