Update Monday #2

Well, it is Monday again. In 2 days it will be February 1 st.  I will be posting my reads for the month on the first and this month it is Teen Month. As you know I read books with my kids and discuss them with the kids. Unlike me it takes them longer to read a book than it does me. My son has been reading the first book in our selection and is almost done. I will post our reviews at the end of the month. I also have been reading like a fiend to get caught up on this months reads. I fell behind because of an illness and unexpected traveling this month but I got 2 books down and half way through the third I will post my review of the two books I did read on the first and will finish the reads by the end of next month. So a busy month for me. Reading wise. We also have a give-away this month of an e-book I am also reading that and will post on that in two weeks after I finish it and when it is closer to the date of the give-away the 27th.  Well have to get back to reading. Type at you latter.

Watch for it Wednesday

Well this is the day Ilist book that are not yet released and I want to read. Again they are mysteries I want to read.

TITLE: Heart of a Killer
AUTHOR: David Rosenfelt

Summary : Jamie Wagner is a young lawyer who is happy to be flying under the radar at a large firm. It’s not that he isn’t smart. He is. It’s just that hard work, not to mention the whole legal thing, isn’t exactly his passion. Underachiever? A little. Content? Right up until the firm puts him on a case that turns his whole world upside down.

Sheryl Harrison has served four years of a thirty-year murder sentence for killing her husband, who she claims was abusive. The case is settled---there shouldn’t be anything for Jamie to do---except Sheryl’s fourteen-year-old daughter, Karen, is sick. She has a congenital heart defect and will die without a transplant. Her blood type is rare, making their chances of finding a matching donor remote at best. Sheryl wants to be that donor for her daughter, and Jamie is in way over his head. Suicide, no matter the motive, is illegal. So with Sheryl on suicide watch, Jamie’s only shot at helping her and saving Karen is to reopen the murder case, prove Sheryl’s innocence, and get her freed so that she can pursue her plan on her own.

why I like this book: I love hardcore mysteries and new to authors (in general or to me) the description grabbed me and I knew I would be waiting for this book .

Why I chose this book: The description looks like it will be a fun read. A cozy mystery. I like to take a break from the hardboiled mysteries sometimes and this look like it will be a lighter read.

Watch for it Wednesday

This is the first post like on this blog. I am picking four yet to be published books that I want to read when they are released.
I am keeping with this months reads these are all adult books for my reading list. They are all mysteries.

TITLE: Unwanted                                     AUTHOR: Kristina Ohlsson

I picked this book OK I must admit for the cover. I loved the cover alone.

The book is going to be released on Feb. 28th

SUMMARY:
In the middle of a rainy Swedish summer, a little girl is abducted from a crowded train. Despite hundreds of potential witnesses, no one noticed when the girl was taken, and, in what seems to be merely a coincidence, her mother has been left behind at the previous station. Inspector Frederika Bergman and her team of federal investigators are called in and assigned to what at first seems to be a classic custody dispute.
But when the child is found dead in the far north of Sweden with the word “unwanted” scribbled on her forehead, the case soon turns into the investigation team’s worst nightmare—the pursuit of a brilliant and ruthless killer.

I must admit it is dark even for me but I really want to read it.

TITLE:The Dark Rose                     AUTHOR: Erin Kelly                                 SUMMARY: Paul was led into a life of crime by his boyhood protector, a bully named Daniel; but one night, what started as a petty theft turned into a grisly murder. Now, at nineteen, Paul must bear witness against his friend to avoid prison. Louisa's own dark secrets led her to flee a desperate infatuation gone wrong many years before. Now she spends her days steeped in history, renovating the grounds of a crumbling Elizabethan garden. But her fragile peace is shattered when she meets Paul; he's the spitting image of the one person she never thought she'd see again.

These two, scarred and solitary, begin a secret affair. Louisa starts to believe she can again find the happiness she had given up on. But neither of them can outrun his violent past.

A story of secrets and guilt set among the ruins of a sixteenth- century English garden, The Dark Rose explores the extremes of obsessive love and loyalty, devotion and desperation. Like Kelly's critically acclaimed debut novel, The Poison Tree, this fantastically creepy, atmospheric novel thrills until the final shocking moments.

I liked the cover but loved the description, This book is being released on Feb. 2nd

and the last book is
TITLE: Illusion                                                             AUTHOR:Frank Peretti                                                 SUMMARY:        Dane and Mandy Collins have been a popular magic act for close to 30 years. In their late fifties, they plan to retire but their plans are devastated by a fiery car wreck. Dane awakens in a hospital and learns that Mandy is dead. As he reflects on their life together and how they first met at a magic show, we see nineteen-year-old Mandy in a flashback:
Mandy and two friends are visiting a county fair in Idaho when they happen upon a theater where a magician will be doing a show in an hour. While waiting to see the show, young Mandy appears to falls asleep, then awakes abruptly. She fell asleep in 1970; it is now 2010. Distraught, she is picked up by security personnel. She winds up in a mental hospital, where no one is sure who she is or where she came from.?
Mandy escapes from the hospital. Alone, penniless, and mystified by her circumstances, she takes shelter with a charitable family and begins eking out a dime by performing magic for anyone who will stop, watch, and leave a tip. She winds up doing a weekly magic act at a local coffeehouse.
A friend tells Dane there’s an act he ought to see. Dane has retired but agrees to watch the girl perform. He is transfixed by the magic he sees, illusions that even he, a seasoned professional, cannot readily explain. But more than anything, he is emotionally devastated by this nineteen-year-old who is in every respect identical to the young beauty he first met some forty years earlier.
When Mandy and Dane reunite, they must decide what their future is…and uncover the conspiracy behind their meeting; the strange, supernatural bent to Mandy's magic; and who is following them.?

This book is a little different than the books I usually read but the description has me enticed. I think this will be an interesting read .
