Watch for it Wednesday

This month theme is Teen books so staying with that here are the books
Title : Partials                                                        Author : Dan Wells                                               Summary:   The human race is all but extinct after a war with Partials—engineered organic beings identical to humans—has decimated the population. Reduced to tens of thousands by RM, a weaponized virus to which only a fraction of humanity is immune, the survivors in North America have huddled together on Long Island while the Partials have mysteriously retreated. The threat of the Partials is still imminent, but worse, no baby has been born immune to RM in more than a decade. Our time is running out.

Kira, a sixteen-year-old medic in training, is on the front lines of this battle, seeing RM ravage the community while mandatory pregnancy laws threaten to launch what’s left of humanity into civil war, and she’s not content to stand by and watch. But as she makes a desperate decision to save the last of her race, she will discover that the survival of humans and Partials alike rests in her attempts to uncover the connections between them—connections that humanity has forgotten, or perhaps never even knew were there.

There are 2 reasons I want to read this book fisrt I love the cover second I remeber the first "Terminator" movie . I have several of Dan Wells books I have not read them yet but look forward to reading them soon.

Release Date Feb 28th

Title : Divergent
Author: Veronica Roth

Summary :
In Beatrice Prior’s dystopian Chicago world, society is divided into five factions, each dedicated to the cultivation of a particular virtue—Candor (the honest), Abnegation (the selfless), Dauntless (the brave), Amity (the peaceful), and Erudite (the intelligent). On an appointed day of every year, all sixteen-year-olds must select the faction to which they will devote the rest of their lives. For Beatrice, the decision is between staying with her family and being who she really is—she can’t have both. So she makes a choice that surprises everyone, including herself.

During the highly competitive initiation that follows, Beatrice renames herself Tris and struggles alongside her fellow initiates to live out the choice they have made. Together they must undergo extreme physical tests of endurance and intense psychological simulations, some with devastating consequences. As initiation transforms them all, Tris must determine who her friends really are—and where, exactly, a romance with a sometimes fascinating, sometimes exasperating boy fits into the life she's chosen. But Tris also has a secret, one she's kept hidden from everyone because she's been warned it can mean death. And as she discovers unrest and growing conflict that threaten to unravel her seemingly perfect society, she also learns that her secret might help her save those she loves . . . or it might destroy her.

February's Reads

This month is Young adult book . Reading them with my son. We picked 4 books we are hoping are as good as the hype. Here we go

TITLE:  Lockdown
AUTHOR: Alexander Gordon Smith

GOODREAD'S SUMMARY: Furnace Penitentiary: the world’s most secure prison for young offenders, buried a mile beneath the earth’s surface. Convicted of a murder he didn’t commit, sentenced to life without parole, “new fish” Alex Sawyer knows he has two choices: find a way out, or resign himself to a death behind bars, in the darkness at the bottom of the world. Except in Furnace, death is the least of his worries. Soon Alex discovers that the prison is a place of pure evil, where inhuman creatures in gas masks stalk the corridors at night, where giants in black suits drag screaming inmates into the shadows, where deformed beasts can be heard howling from the blood-drenched tunnels below. And behind everything is the mysterious, all-powerful warden, a man as cruel and dangerous as the devil himself, whose unthinkable acts have consequences that stretch far beyond the walls of the prison.

Together with a bunch of inmates—some innocent kids who have been framed, others cold-blooded killers—Alex plans an escape. But as he starts to uncover the truth about Furnace’s deeper, darker purpose, Alex’s actions grow ever more dangerous, and he must risk everything to expose this nightmare that’s hidden from the eyes of the world.

WHY WE PICKED THIS BOOK : My son and I both like the summary. Horror and adventure. My biggest selling point no vampires. I like vampires but my son seem to think that is the only type of book worth reading. I am trying to show him there are other things out there.

ARE WE LOOKING FORWARD TO READING:  Yes, if the book is half as good as the descripstion we will enjoy it and read the series.

Suddenly, Trey finds himself living in a luxury penthouse at the heart of a strange and sinister empire built on the powers of the Netherworld—vampires, demons, sorcerers, and djinn.
And there is a girl—Alexa Charron—who is half vampire, half human, and insanely pretty, with powers all of her own. Trey is falling for her.
Trey is training night and day to control the newly discovered power lurking inside him. Now, demons are closing in on every side, and the most psychopathic bloodsucker to rock the Netherworld wants to destroy him. Above all, he must face one terrifying question:
Is he a boy . . . or is he a beast?

Update Monday #2

Well, it is Monday again. In 2 days it will be February 1 st.  I will be posting my reads for the month on the first and this month it is Teen Month. As you know I read books with my kids and discuss them with the kids. Unlike me it takes them longer to read a book than it does me. My son has been reading the first book in our selection and is almost done. I will post our reviews at the end of the month. I also have been reading like a fiend to get caught up on this months reads. I fell behind because of an illness and unexpected traveling this month but I got 2 books down and half way through the third I will post my review of the two books I did read on the first and will finish the reads by the end of next month. So a busy month for me. Reading wise. We also have a give-away this month of an e-book I am also reading that and will post on that in two weeks after I finish it and when it is closer to the date of the give-away the 27th.  Well have to get back to reading. Type at you latter.

Watch for it Wednesday

This is the first post like on this blog. I am picking four yet to be published books that I want to read when they are released.
I am keeping with this months reads these are all adult books for my reading list. They are all mysteries.

TITLE: Unwanted                                     AUTHOR: Kristina Ohlsson

I picked this book OK I must admit for the cover. I loved the cover alone.

The book is going to be released on Feb. 28th

SUMMARY:
In the middle of a rainy Swedish summer, a little girl is abducted from a crowded train. Despite hundreds of potential witnesses, no one noticed when the girl was taken, and, in what seems to be merely a coincidence, her mother has been left behind at the previous station. Inspector Frederika Bergman and her team of federal investigators are called in and assigned to what at first seems to be a classic custody dispute.
But when the child is found dead in the far north of Sweden with the word “unwanted” scribbled on her forehead, the case soon turns into the investigation team’s worst nightmare—the pursuit of a brilliant and ruthless killer.

I must admit it is dark even for me but I really want to read it.

TITLE:The Dark Rose                     AUTHOR: Erin Kelly                                 SUMMARY: Paul was led into a life of crime by his boyhood protector, a bully named Daniel; but one night, what started as a petty theft turned into a grisly murder. Now, at nineteen, Paul must bear witness against his friend to avoid prison. Louisa's own dark secrets led her to flee a desperate infatuation gone wrong many years before. Now she spends her days steeped in history, renovating the grounds of a crumbling Elizabethan garden. But her fragile peace is shattered when she meets Paul; he's the spitting image of the one person she never thought she'd see again.

These two, scarred and solitary, begin a secret affair. Louisa starts to believe she can again find the happiness she had given up on. But neither of them can outrun his violent past.

A story of secrets and guilt set among the ruins of a sixteenth- century English garden, The Dark Rose explores the extremes of obsessive love and loyalty, devotion and desperation. Like Kelly's critically acclaimed debut novel, The Poison Tree, this fantastically creepy, atmospheric novel thrills until the final shocking moments.

I liked the cover but loved the description, This book is being released on Feb. 2nd

and the last book is
