January Reads

I have my reads all set for January.

TITLE Jack & Jill                                                                       Author James Patterson                                                            SUMMARY: Someone kills one of the most powerful men in the U.S. Senate--and the whole world is watching. Someone murders a small black girl on the mean streets of Washington-- and no one seems to care. But only D.C. homicide cop Alex Cross suspects that the evil striking down both the high and the low wears the same shocking face. Now in his most terrifying case, Cross must stop a deadly force before it destroys the very foundation of this nation....
Why I chose this book: Okay lets face it. I think I am the only person in the world that may not have read all of the Alex Cross series. I saw the movies and thought they were okay. Nothing special. I picked up a used copy of "Along Came A Spider" and could not put it down.So I am reading them all in order this is #3 of the Alex Cross series
Am I looking forward to reading this: Yes the first two books were 100 times better than the movies and I am ashamed to say that kept me aways from the books . Now I am trying to make up for lost time.

Title: Fear Itself                                                                               Author: Jonathan Nasaw                                                                       Summary: Is it possible to be scared to death ? FBI Special Agent E.L. Pender thinks so - when a man afraid of heights falls nineteen stories to his death and a woman terrified of blood is found with her wrists slashed. Could it be that the apparent suicides are actually the work of a twisted psychopath?                                                                                        To stop him, Pender joins forces with Investigative Specialist Linda Abruzzi, and before long they find themselves facing their own worst terrors-- and a madman who is as immune to fear as he is fascinated by it.
Why I chose this book:  I love books about murder and mysteries. I have seen this authors several times but this is the first book I am reading by him.

Am I looking forward to reading: Yes I always searching for new authors. I love the back summary and I am hoping the book lives up to it.

Title Immoral                                                                                  Author Brian Freeman                                                                     Summary Lieutenant Jonathan Stride knows it's not a moral world. One teenage girl has already disappeared on his watch, leaving behind no body, no killer, and no justice. Now, when another girl goes missing on a cold night in Minnesota, Stride must relive his worst nightmare............
Why I chose this book: Again an author I have seen but never read, I wanted to try some new to me authors. This is also on my shelf for over a year

Am I looking forward to reading: Yes I am for two reasons a new author and new series I like to follow a story that goes on for more than one book it gives me deeper feeling for the main characters.

Title: An Ice Cold Grave                                                                Author: Charlaine Harris                                                                Summary: Harper Connelly heads to Doraville, North Carolina, to find a missing boy- one of several teenage boys who have disappeared over the last five years. And all of them are calling for Harper. She finds them -- buried in the frozen ground. All Harper wants is to get out of town before she's caught in the media storm, until she herself is attacked. Soon, Harper will learn more than she cared to about the dark mysteries and long - hidden secrets of Doraville - knowledge of the dead that makes her the next in line to end up in an ice cold grave.......
Why I chose this book:  I have read most of the Sookie Stackhouse books and the first two in this series and I loved them. They are quick reads and very entertaining
